Garry (G. B.) Trudeau began sketching Doonesbury in 1970, and has angered, irritated, and rebuked every president since Nixon. Doonesbury is well known for its social and political commentary, always timely, and rich with satire. In 1975, Trudeau became the first comic strip artist ever to be awarded a Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning.
