While most are blatant in their ode to the King of Pop, the limited edition Bridgeport Boat Shoe that is the collaborative brainchild of DJ Cassidy and Rockport does a more silent tribute. DJ Cassidy drew inspiration from Run DMC, borrowing the elastic component from Run DMC's adidas Originals shell toe sneakers and fitting it under the tongue so the boat shoes can be worn without laces. Stylistically, the shoes are inspired by Michael Jackson's outfit in Billy Jean of a black leather suit worn with red bow tie and pink socks. The boat shoes feature a pink perforated leather upper paired with red canvas upper with black pine stripes, and are finished with gold eyelets and custom pink terrycloth footbed. These limited edition shoes come stored in a custom DJ Cassidy shoe box lined with pink tissue paper.
