Traveling and looking your best can be a real challenge, especially during the Summer months. With so many destinations with different climates and terrains (leave the heels at home!), it’s easy to overpack. Take it from us, lugging a huge bag around isn’t ideal and can become a burden.
For some quick tips on what to pack, we’re turning to Alyssa of The A List — she’s traveled the world and tested what pieces work best for both style and comfort. See how she styles her favorite outfits and what her top picks are below.
While traveling abroad, I still love to dress up for date night with my husband. For a recent date night in downtown Victoria, I couldn’t say no to the perfect floral silk wrap dress. It’s flirty, feminine, and screams “Summer!” I kept it casual with a pair of white flats, so we could walk around afterwards (I pack more flats than heels when I travel!).
Lunchtime on the beach calls for a casual outfit in fun colors! When we traveled to Mexico last month, I was all about making sure my wardrobe was full of color. With my travel style, I curate all of my looks to match the vibe of the destination.
Summertime is the perfect time to be out on the water. We recently got to experience whale watching just off the coast of Canada, which resulted in some casual, comfy layers as the waters of the Pacific (especially up north!) are not warm. Wearing my rain boots paid off, despite it being completely sunny because seawater made its way onto the boat!
I am so glad that one-piece swimsuits have made a comeback over the last year! In my opinion, they have the best designs and flatter everyone. I absolutely love lace-up swimsuits as they can still look feminine and classy. I always have at least three one-piece swimsuits in my suitcase for our travels.
Whether we travel to the city or to the beach, you can always find me in a flirty dress for lunch! During our recent trip to Canada, we enjoyed a lovely lunch and afternoon tea. After, we strolled through the rooftop herb gardens and rose gardens of the Fairmont Empress, and I wore a dress that was more than perfect for the occasion.
