deconstructed fringed cardigan
Hailing from Antwerp in 1988 when the avant-garde design scene was in full swing, Maison Margiela became known for experimenting with garment construction. As though parts of a puzzle, the different elements of this cardigan - in different shades of green - are pieced together, resulting in contrasting knits and colors. Fringed details and pockets, frayed sleeve edges and a dark green knitted belt, further add to this contrast. The cardigan is fastened together with five large buttons.
